Product Description

This is the NEW Gentex 3.3" RCD Video Mirror. The 3.3" display is the clearest and brightest yet. The 16:9 wide view gives a precise image of what is behind your vehicle. When paired with a backup camera the display shows a real-time panoramic view of the rear of the vehicle. The display appears through the mirror glass automatically when the vehicle is shifted into "reverse" it disappears when the vehicle is shifted into any other gear. Safety and Convenience* - From a safety perspective, the Rear Camera Display Mirror should help reduce the risk of backup accidents, especially for vehicles with limited rear vision. Another benefit is the convenience associated with hooking up to boats, RVs and utility trailers. Other Benefits - For car dealers, the Gentex video display technology is quick-to-market, easy to install and service, relatively low cost, and offers a seamless enhancement to the auto-dimming rearview mirror. *Please note that the video display mirror is intended to be used as a supplemental device for drivers and does not eliminate the need to check rearview mirrors or walk around the vehicle, should conditions warrant. When it comes to backing up safely, nothing beats walking around the vehicle prior to moving it. THIS ITEM IS THE VIDEO MIRROR ONLY. IT DOES NOT INCLUDE A CAMERA. WE HAVE THOSE AVAILABLE SEPARATELY.

5Superb Quality
By Doug G.
I have been shopping on Amazon for several years and have never felt compelled to write a review until now. The quality of this mirror is simply fantastic and although it is a bit expensive, it is well worth the extra money in my opinion. I installed it in a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE, paired with a Boyo VTL402HD license plate camera (Brand New Boyo VTL402HD Chrome Bar Type License Plate Rear View HD Color Back Up Camera with High Sensitive 1/4" Color CMOS and Water Proof IP67 Rating) and like others have said, it looks like it came with the car ... the shape and size is exactly the same. When the monitor is turned off, the screen hides perfectly behind the mirror and is not visible at all. When the monitor is on, the screen is bright and clearly visible. I was initially worried that the screen would be too small, but it is big enough to see clearly. The wiring harness provided was a bit too long for my install, but it is put together very well and has a couple options for co nnecting the wires. For the power and reverse input wires, the harness provides a t-tap connector with a fuse already connected inline and a butt connector without a fuse connected. For the ground wire, the harness has a ring terminal option or a butt connector. Also, this product is made in the USA, which is a huge bonus for me.

The install:
(if you are not comfortable removing panels in the car and working with the electrical connections, save the headache and get it installed by a pro):

Replacing the oem mirror was the easiest part of the installation, just remove one T15 screw and slide the mirror off, then slide on the new mirror and tighten the screw back. For the reverse wire connection, I ended up using the t-tap connector to tap into the following wire: http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/DriverX_05/Dont%20Delete%20album/IMG_1566.jpg (the picture matches my car exactly). For the power wire, I used a multimeter to find an empty fuse s lot that got voltage only when the ignition is turned to ON and used one of the add-a-circuit fuses (http://store.42draftdesigns.com/assets/images/electrical/add-a-circuit.jpg) with a 3A fuse to connect a wire with the harness. Note, I was not able to put fuse panel cover with the diagram back on because it snaps directly on to the fuse block and the add-a-circuit sticks out too much. For the ground wire, I was able to find a bolt located under the driver side kick panel that fit the ring terminal perfectly.

5Fantastic!
By wudworker
2013, Ford Mustang. Removal of OEM mirror was tricky. This is same size, in fact it appears to be an exact replacement. It comes with all parts needed for install. The wiring diagram is not great but it does work. I paired this with the BOYO VTL375 (license plate camera). I tied the red wire, from camera, to the reverse light bulb wire in trunk and also to the Violet wire to mirror. Really a great camera and much less $$ than OEM camera.
